Alicja Brozek, PhD

Computational Postdoctoral Fellow

Alicja completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry jointly between Imperial College London and ETH Zurich. She then went on to complete an MRes in synthetic biology and a PhD centered around understanding the gene regulatory networks underlying epidermal stem cell patterning in C. elegans, both at Imperial College London. She also worked during her PhD at Astrazeneca in the discovery sciences bioinformatics team. Alicja has always aimed to combine mathematics and biology to understand complex patterns and build simplified models that allow the construction of novel hypotheses. At Gladstone she is working in the Bruneau and Theodoris labs to characterize the gene regulatory networks of cardiac stem cells. In her free time, she enjoys climbing, surfing, painting, and cooking. A goal of hers outside of work is to be able to do a whole triathlon.
